Andre Jamal Cardine

Cardine is a PhD Candidate in Ethnomusicology at Indiana University. His dissertation project focuses on teacher retention and sustainability in the Arts education landscape of Chicago Public Schools. Additionally, his research interests include Black music research broadly, queer musicians in gospel music, the transmission of Capoeira Angola, and trends in popular music. Additionally, Andre has over two decades of experience as a musician and singer-songwriter.
