Cecelia Swanson

Cecelia Swanson is a cellist and educator based in Louisville, Kentucky. She holds a Master’s degree in Cello Performance and Suzuki Pedagogy and a Professional Studies Diploma in Cello Performance, both from the Cleveland Institute of Music. Cecelia’s work lives at the intersection of strong technical foundations, creative exploration, and caring for the whole person behind the instrument. She has taught students of all ages in private studios, school programs, and Suzuki Institutes, and especially loves helping young musicians feel seen, heard, and capable. In her teaching, Cecelia is drawn to documentary-style songwriting and other creative projects that invite students to tell their own stories through music. Cecelia is inspired by DocSong’s commitment to listening first and honoring lived experience. She believes that shared music-making can spark connection and boost empathy, and she is excited about work that brings those values into classrooms, communities, and collaborative songwriting spaces.
