December 28, 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
We are proud to announce a collaboration with jazz singer and DocSong board member, Halley Elwell! Join us for an evening of song: Halley’s originals, DocSong favorites, singalongs, and some special guest appearances.
About Halley:
Halley Elwell is a songwriter whose memorable melodies, vibrant imagery and wit pull the ear somewhere old and new. Her songs, described as “breathtaking,” by Mike Dow of the Maine Edge, have been recognized by ASCAP, Nashville Songwriters Association and most recently by the John Lennon Songwriting Contest for Sisters on the J Train, a song inspired by a train ride in San Francisco with a group of nuns. Weaving tales of travel and nostalgia into lush and layered rhythms, the Maine native’s latest EP, The Last of What I Know, pays homage to the sounds of late 1960’s and 1970s songwriters like Laura Nyro, Carole King, and Joni Mitchell.
