Last Monday, 10 musicians and music educators from across the country (+Canada and Sweden!) gathered together to learn the inner workings of the Documentary Songwriting Method. These talented artists are singer-songwriters, researchers, performers, teachers, and actors. They share a passion for social justice and a commitment to doing more with their art.

In the past six days we have studied empathetic communication techniques, advanced melodic design and how to promote harmony through music. We’ve studied the Documentary Songwriting Method, and used it to write songs with each other, and with the greater community. Yesterday, we co-wrote songs with women from FOV (Finding our Voices), a grassroots organization dedicated to breaking the silence of domestic partner abuse. Join is in this intimate, virtual concert to hear some of the songs we have created over the past week.
